Appointments

Consultations with the doctors are by appointments that last 10 minutes.

You may see the doctor or nurse of your choice, but it may be better to see the same doctor or nurse for continuity.

To make an appointment:

• Use our online booking service (currently for 10 mins doctor appointments only)
• For any practice team member telephone 0191 275 5710 or visit the surgery reception

You may book in advance for early morning and early afternoon appointments up to eight weeks in advance (one week for appointments booked online).

You may also book each day from 8.30am.

Exceptions may be made for review appointments (at the doctor's discretion) or in exceptional circumstances.

Please make the receptionist aware if booking on the day is particularly difficult for you (for example if you work) and we will be happy to help.

Appointment over-runs

Occasionally appointment times take longer than expected due to the variation and seriousness of individual conditions. We ask for your patience and understanding at these times.

Late arrivals

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment then you may be asked to make another appointment on another day. If the problem is urgent, however, you may be able to wait till the end of the surgery to be seen.
